Outdoor Drinking In Paris

When the sun is out over Paris, there can be few more enjoyable activities than enjoying an al fresco drink in one of the city’s many bars with outdoor spaces. Here are just a few of the best outdoor drinking spots in the city of love.

Le Bar du Marché

The terrace at Le Bar du Marché affords visitors a terrific view of the Seine. It looks out of the corner of the rue de Seine and the rue Saint-André des Arts, giving you a fine view of this frenetic and colourful part of the city.

Le Cambodge

This terrace is one of the most over-subscribed in the capital - with good reason. Their food is legendary, and their wine list is one of the best around. On sunny days, there can often be a queue around the corner to eat and drink in this most stunning of locations, but if you arrive too late, you can still order some of their food for takeaway.

Café Chéri(e)

This rickety-looking old place perfectly encapsulates the bohemian spirit of early 20th century Paris, and is a great place to settle down on a sunny day for a drink or two.

Aux Folies

This legendary cafe was once frequented by the likes of Edith Piaf and Maurice Chevalier, and some of that glamour persists to this day. Despite being set amidst narrow and shaded streets, the terrace gets plenty of sun, and the drinks are surprisingly affordable.

Jardin du Bassin de l'Arsenal

A tranquil haven away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Paris, this café/restaurant in the middle of Place de la Bastille is the perfect place for a relaxing drink in the sun.

Le Jemmapes

This wonderful café has a wonderful outdoor space that is busy from the first day of spring to the last day of Autumn. The perfect place to while away a warm Parisian afternoon.

La Mer à Boire

If you are looking for spectacular city views, then La Mer à Boire is well worth a visit. Situated at the highest point in Paris, this terrace offers the best panoramic view of the Paris skyline you will find anywhere in the city.

Point Éphémère

Situated beside a canal, this picturesque café terrace gets plenty of sun, and is a great place to spend an afternoon by the water enjoying a few cheap drinks and a bite to eat.
