| The first Parisian venture of the world renowned Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Market is centrally located and was designed by the minimalist interior designer Christian Liaigre. He prefers to use basic materials such as wood and stone giving the venue an earthy feel. Huge bay windows open out into an interior courtyard, and ethnic masks and other objects from Africa and Polynesia decorate the interior. There is a raw bar in the restaurant serving oysters, fish carpaccios and other uncooked delicacies. The banquettes in beige leather surround beautifully laid tables. The terrace is delightful for both lunch and dinner and VIPs are attracted by the chef’s table hidden near the kitchens. The young chef Wim Van Gorp has already spent several years training with Jean-Georges in New York and is now at the height of his career. The food is a fusion of French, Italian and Asian producing mouth-watering and beautifully presented dishes. |
